The Malema M-80 Series is a fixed set point inline float-style flow switch designed for monitoring increasing and decreasing flow rates of gases and liquids in industrial process systems. The switch operates using a magnetic flow sensing element positioned in the flow stream, which actuates a hermetically sealed reed switch at a preset flow rate. Its inline variable-area design provides extremely low pressure drop, high sensitivity, and excellent repeatability, making the series suitable for high-flow applications requiring dependable flow detection.

Constructed entirely from 316 stainless steel, the M-80 Series offers excellent corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, and long-term reliability in demanding industrial environments. Available configurations include 1" BSPP or MNPT connections and 2" ANSI flanged versions for larger process systems. Typical flow ranges extend from approximately 2.5 to 80 l/min for water and 2.3 to 70.6 SCFM for air depending on configuration. Performance characteristics include repeatability up to ±5%, low hysteresis, and operating pressures up to 1000 psig.
