The Malema M-VF-F Series is a flanged safety excess flow valve designed for rapid automatic shut-off in the event of catastrophic line, hose, or fitting failure in high-flow industrial piping systems. Operating entirely mechanically through a magnetic piston and venturi-based differential pressure principle, the valve instantly detects sudden surge flow conditions and closes automatically without requiring electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuation. This provides reliable protection for personnel, plant equipment, and instrumentation handling hazardous or valuable fluids.
The M-VF-F Series is specifically intended for larger process lines where flanged connections are required. Available in multiple ANSI flange classes and larger line sizes, the valve is commonly manufactured from 316 stainless steel, forged steel, carbon steel, and specialty alloys for compatibility with corrosive, toxic, radioactive, flammable, and high-pressure media. The shut-off set point is field adjustable, while positive shut-off and controlled-bleed reset configurations are available depending on system requirements.
Typical applications include chemical plants, gas distribution systems, hydraulic installations, process analyzer protection, loading systems, sampling systems, refinery piping, pollution control systems, and industrial process protection where automatic emergency shut-off capability is critical.
